You must stand up and be counted if your community is to get it’s fair share of over $400 billion….
When you fill out and mail back your census form, you’re making a statement about what resources your community needs going forward.
Accurate data reflecting changes in your community are crucial in apportioning seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and deciding how more than $400 billion per year is allocated for projects like new hospitals and schools.
That’s more than $4 trillion over a 10-year period for things like new roads and schools, and services like job training centers.

So I don’t write a lot about person stuff on our ChathamChat.com Community BLOG because I know honestly, most of you are on here checking out Chatham News! Well, this weekend we traveled away from Chatham to the north side of Chicago. I was adopted at the early age of 5 days old but always was curious about my birth family. I found them when I was 18 but really kept my relationship with them separate from my adopted family because it was just a sensitive subject. Well, I’m 27 and realized that life if too short not to have a relationship with my birth family… including my sister.
I grew up as an only child with 2 parents that loved me very much… but it scared them to death … the idea of me finding my birth family and leaving them. I think as I have gotten older, they realize how much I love them, but there is still part of me that wants that relationship with my birth family. It doesn’t mean I love my mother and father any less, but everyone must realize that I am doing this for me.
So we traveled to the north side of Chicago to see my sister, her 5 ADORABLE kids, my birth mom and her father. Keeping in mind this was the first time I’ve seen any of them for 5 or 6 years (my own fault for not pursuing that relationship), we got our families together, introduced them to my husband and children. While it was a very laid back situation, it was a wonderful one to experience. Monyca’s youngest is 4 and my oldest is 2… so they got along great. Heck, all her children just coo’ed all over both of my little ones and I coo’ed over all 5 of them. What dolls!
In any case, see the picture below. I hope to get them all down to Chatham one of these days to experience our wonderful little town and the Springfield region.
Pictures: Pic 1- Liz, Monyca and Liz’s 2 kids… Pic 2- Caden (Liz’s son) and Lauren (Monyca’s daughter) – Gosh, they look alike!

Hugs and Loves,
Liz, ChathamMama
